Volunteer Week 2026

Citizens Advice is on the lookout for people who want to make a difference as it celebrates Volunteers Week 2026.

People who want to make a positive impact in their community are being urged to find out more about volunteering with Citizens Advice.

As part of Volunteers’ Week 2026 (1st - 7th June), the charity is taking the time to highlight the incredible work of its volunteers and thank them for their exceptional contribution.

In the last year, Citizens Advice has helped millions of people with a range of problems ranging from debt and housing, to benefits and energy. It can only do this work thanks to its strong team of trained volunteers, working alongside staff.

Research by Citizens Advice shows in 2025-26 its 19,000 volunteers across 240 services contributed more than £100 million in value across England and Wales, reflecting both the hours they give and the wider positive impact on the economy and the NHS.

Citizens Advice volunteers come from all walks of life, including students; people getting back into work after a career break; people with part-time jobs; carers; and people who have retired.

Volunteers are often looking to gain valuable experience, or to use their existing skills in new ways. Many want to make a difference to their community and find a sense of purpose in helping others.

Now Citizens Advice is looking for new volunteers to join and help make a difference to the people of south Warwickshire, as the cost of living crisis continues to push up demand for its services.

As well as volunteers who offer advice to people in person, online or over the phone, there are opportunities for people to use their expertise in a range of areas on a flexible basis. These include supporting the charity with financial or marketing needs, providing administrative or IT support, or providing support with research and campaigns.

Julie Robinson, Chief Executive Officer at Citizens Advice South Warwickshire said:

“We’re incredibly grateful to our wonderful team of volunteers who are at the heart of the communities they serve. They willingly give up their time to ensure people across our rural and semi-rural communities can get the support they need, and to help us in our mission to build a fairer society for everyone.

“With household budgets being stretched to breaking point, this support makes a vital difference to the growing number of people struggling with bills, budgeting and debt, as well as housing and consumer issues.

“We know that people find volunteering with us hugely rewarding. Whether it’s working as a team, learning new skills or campaigning on issues close to your heart, there are many fulfilling opportunities available. Citizens Advice is the people’s champion - if you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.”
