- Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month: celebrating alternative cultures and traditions
25 June 2025
June is Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month 2025.
There are rich and diverse historical traditions and cultures among the Irish Traveller, Romany Gypsy, Roma, New Traveller, Boater and Showmen communities which deserve to be celebrated.
If you want to learn more about these cultures and traditions, or just support this History Month, click here to download the digital engagement pack and see what you can learn and how you can help.
Beyond the celebration of ‘alternative cultures’, this History Month puts a spotlight on the day-to-day challenges faced by these communities across the country, including Warwickshire.
‘Friends, Families and Travellers’ is a leading national charity that works to end racism and discrimination against Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people and to protect their right to pursue a nomadic way of life.
They support individuals and families with the issues that matter most to them, at the same time as working to transform systems and institutions to address the root causes of inequalities faced by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people.
